Event Member Roles

With Snaps, event privacy is in your control.

For things like concerts, Snaps Events can be completely public. For things like children's birthday parties, Snaps Events can be limited to specific sets of friends and family.

You can also use more granular controls to provide or limit access at certain times and to adjust content visibility.

Working with People

Most events involve multiple people. You might have a partner you're sharing event responsibilities with, a community of active support volunteers, customers, and the broader public to work with.

For these many cases, Snaps offers 4 different user roles:

Bullet Point

Owner - The event creator is the initial owner. Owners can do everything, including deleting the entire event, managing users, and adjusting watermarking features. When watermarking is enabled, owners can still download original, full-resolution images without watermarks.

Bullet Point

Editor - Editors are trusted members with almost as much power as owners. The main restrictions on editors are: they can't delete an entire event, can't edit event owners, and can't change watermarking settings. When watermarking is enabled, editors (and all other non-owner users) will only be able to download HD quality, watermarked images.

Bullet Point

Contributor - For many events, the default member role will be Contributor. These members can post and update photo captions (with limitations), but can't otherwise edit your events.

Bullet Point

Viewer - Viewers are members who will see the activity feed from your event, but they can't post.

You should also make sure your event settings are appropriate for non-members. For example, if you want a very private event, you could change the visibility of "Posts" to "Members Only" and change "New Member Approval" to "manual".
